Desserita Dyson is the founder of Hawkins Heart In-Home Care and a Certified Medical Assistant with more than 15 years of healthcare experience.

Her journey into caregiving began long before her professional career. Growing up, she watched her mother care for others with patience, dignity, and dedication—values that would later shape her own approach to service. Desserita went on to care for family members, work in private homes as a Patient Care Assistant, and build a career focused on helping individuals feel safe, respected, and supported.

Throughout her career, she has gained experience in both home-based and clinical healthcare settings, developing a strong understanding of patient care, communication, and the importance of building trust with families. She believes great care goes beyond meeting physical needs; it starts with listening, consistency, and treating every person with dignity.

In 2021, Desserita founded Hawkins Heart In-Home Care to provide dependable, personalized in-home care services for seniors and families throughout South Georgia. The agency offers companion care, personal care services, respite care, and caregiver support designed to help individuals remain safe, comfortable, and independent at home.

The name Hawkins Heart honors her grandmother, Estelle Hawkins, whose generosity, strength, and willingness to help others continue to inspire the way care is delivered today.

Today, Desserita remains committed to helping seniors age in place with confidence while providing families with trusted support and peace of mind. Through Hawkins Heart, she proudly serves families across Dougherty, Worth, Baker, Mitchell, Colquitt, Decatur, Grady, Thomas, Lowndes, and Brooks counties.
